So Jonathan Majors' lawyer(s) released these text messages as evidence that he did nothing wrong, and I don't think these texts accomplish what they were meant to accomplish. Activists had long called for police to be held accountable in these shootings, and as AP notes, many questioned if Noor was being treated differently because he is Black.
