Two months ago, I found out that my hemoglobin was so low, I needed a blood transfusion. I was also living with hypertension and Type 2 diabetes.
In two months, I have gotten my blood pressure under control, lowered my A1C, and my hemoglobin is on the rise with the help of IV iron infusions. I am not as fatigued, and I feel a lot better.
For so long, I have neglected my personal health, to my detriment, and this was a much needed wake up call.
I have had health wake up calls before, but there’s this thing that happens when you get back on track. At least for me, I relaxed a bit on my good habits. I see now that was a bad move, and I am committed now more than ever to not letting this happen again.
So, even with my bad numbers coming down and my good numbers going up, I am going to remain vigilant and continue to keep a close watch on all my habits.
Health is wealth, and the healthier I get, the longer I will live.
I have so much more I want to do and accomplish, and I can’t do those things if I’m not here.
So here’s to me being here for a lot longer.
